Welcome to the Technology Proficiency System This system was recently redesigned and the logins will be changing. So please find the statement below that describes your situation and follow those directions to login. This will ensure that you will still have access to any previously entered data. I am a completely new user If you are a teacher with a South Carolina teaching certificate and have never used this system before, you can register to use this system at anytime. Click on the Register Now button to start the registration process. Note: All Charleston County Teachers will login as New Users All users login below Returning User - first login The first time you login to the system, please use your username and password from last year. This will allow us to associate all of your previous data to your current data. If you do not remember your login, please check the login hints below. Next, update your user profile. Then when you login to the system again your username will be your email address. Login hints for returning user For teachers, your User Name and Password = lastname + last 4 digits of your certificate number (no spaces and all small letters) If you still have difficulties logging in, please contact your system administrator. Technology Proficiency is an initiative of the South Carolina Department of Education. Proviso 1.25 specifically states that “to ensure the effective and efficient use of the funding provided by the General Assembly in Part IA, Section 1 XI.A.1 for school technology in the classroom and internet access, the State Department of Education shall approve teacher technology competency standards and local school districts must require teachers to demonstrate proficiency in these standards as part of each teacher’s Professional Development plan. Evidence that districts are meeting the requirement is a prerequisite to expenditure of a district’s technology funds.”
